Four world-class new professional dancers will be stepping into the Strictly ballroom this year. They are: World Junior Latin American Champion 2010 and former Dancing With The Stars Ireland professional Kai Widdrington; six-time Latin and Ballroom National Champion in Italy and former Let’s Dance Germany professional Nikita Kuzmin; reigning South African Latin Champion Cameron Lombard; and Polish Open Latin Champion 2014 and winner of BBC One’s The Greatest Dancer 2020, Jowita Przystal. Weekends are about to get a lot more fab-u-lous!

But let’s take a look at LGBTQ+ contestant and same-sex pairing, Chorley-based The Great British Bake Off winner (2012) John Whaite and his dance partner Johannes Radebe.

What made you want to take part in the show this year?

I wanted to take part in Strictly because I like sequins and I like fake tan! I used to dance when I was younger, I did ballet and modern and tap, and I really want to get back into it. I have never learnt Ballroom or Latin so I can’t wait to learn.
